Course Objectives

• Learn how to apply the relevant discard criteria for examination of wire rope in service
• Gain knowledge and understanding of wire terminology, wire rope constructions and their different characteristics and effect on rope performance.
• Gain the theoretical knowledge to enable the attendee to carry out wire rope examinations
• Practically look at different rope constructions to differentiate between several different wire rope constructions.
• Short test at the end of the course to demonstrate understanding with a certificate on successful completion.

Anyone interested in learning about wire ropes or who is involved in the inspection/examination of wire ropes.  The course is also suitable for those who like to gain more knowledge in to how a rope deteriorates during use and how this can affect its performance and look at practical solutions to extend the life of ropes
