Shaft sinking

This is the initial start-up stage of any deep shaft mine which utilises a working platform called a stage typically suspended and driven by 2 up to 4 ropes connected to drum winders on the surface. A kibble rope is the hoisting rope, where people, material and the shaft bottom material is hoisted.
