Tower cranes

Tower cranes are used for moving goods or materials from the ground upwards during the construction of high rise buildings. Initially with the introduction of the flat/T'top and more recently the luffing tower crane together with the popularity of the self and fast erecting types.

Main hoist

Are typically used to raise loads during the construction of high-rise buildings.

Derricking/ luffing

The boom hoist rope is used to raise and lower the boom on luffing tower cranes.


Trolley ropes provide the means to move the trolley along the boom during operation.
