The tower yarder has the longest reach and capacity due to the tower size. Require larger skid sit as logs are landed in front of it. Usually set up with skyline, main rope, haul back and five guy lines.
The skylines run between the tower and the tail holding and providing lift to drag the logs.
The main rope is used to pull carriage and butt rigging with logs onto the landing.
Haul back ropes are used to return the main rope (butt rigging and/or carriage).
The guy lines holds the tower yarder upright against forces imposed upon during hauling.
