François Desné (° 1971) joined Bekaert on 5 September 2022. He began his career with RHODIA in 1996, where he held management roles in quality and development. François moved to BASF in 2003 where he took on regional and global leadership positions of increasingly broader scope and responsibility across Europe and Asia as SVP of Global Business units. 
In 2016, François Desné joined Recticel as Group General Manager of Recticel Engineered Foams and member of the Recticel Group Executive Committee.
François Desné, French national, holds a Master of Science in fundamental physics from the University of Paris VII, France, an MBA from the Wharton School, and a Master of Arts in international studies from the Lauder Institute, both belonging to the University of Pennsylvania, US.
